The Painting Workshop
Studio Tuscany is the lavish, deluxe version of our beloved and very popular art painting workshop Studio Italia (offered on late June and early October). This art workshop is intended for those artists and art lovers who want to enjoy a deluxe hotel environment while painting in Italy. As our classic Studio Italia, Studio Tuscany is a real painting course; 7 full days entirely devoted to art in the medium of your choice; mornings dedicated to significant instruction at the lodge, afternoons to lighter coaching in a nearby village in Tuscany (Cortona, Montepulciano, etc.) or the nearby Umbria; evenings to passionate art discussions on various art issues. It is up to you to start with a full painting, or on small sketches, and then proceed to more accomplished works of art derived from these esquisses. Also, you are free to work at your own pace; if for any reason you need to take some time off and just wander around, you may do so. We will spend one day in Perugia visiting the National Gallery of Umbria, a little jewel of museum, one of the best kept secret of art. At the end of the painting workshop, we organize an exhibit at the hotel or somewhere around. PowerPoint lectures given in the conference room on punctual art history subjects and theories are in the course outline; and personalized instruction is the most important foundations of this art workshop.

The Location
Studio Tuscany is given at Locanda dell'Amorosa, a fabulous four-star hotel located on the border of the Val-d’Orcia and the Val di Chiana; Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, are only a few of the surrounding hill tops villages. The hotel, named after the XIVth century village called Amorosa (where it is located), was considered a medieval oasis for those thirsty of scenery, art history, knowledge and luxury. We, at icscis, we want to carry on with this tradition.
The price
Price for Studio Tuscany 2008 is $4,825. The price of this art workshop includes: 7 night double accommodation at Locanda dell’Amorosa, all breakfasts, 6 lunches, 7 dinners, transportation from and to the Arezzo train station, transportation to our painting sites (Cortona, Montepulciano, Pienza, Perugia), entrance to the National Gallery of Umbria, and tuition. American breakfasts and Tuscan gourmet dinners are served everyday at the hotel’s renowned restaurant, Le Coccole dell’Amorosa. Lunches, served in a nearby restaurant, are lighter in order to keep a good rhythm for painting, visiting and making the most of our days
